Manna Meal Gratitude Bracelet

Manna Meal is a 501(c)(3) non-profit soup kitchen located inside St. John’s Episcopal Church in the heart of downtown Charleston, WV.  Manna Meal thrives through the generosity and support of the community to provide a safe haven, no questions asked food service to those in need.  They are not a government agency and rely solely on contributions from the community and grants.

While feeding the hungry of the Kanawha Valley for over 43 years they have grown from serving a single person a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a bowl of soup, to being a vital part of the community, and providing food to an average of 325 people each day with well balanced meals.  They serve breakfast and lunch daily, 365 days a year.

Food donations are used in a variety of ways.  They receive donations from grocery stores, churches, businesses, restaurants, hospitals, catering companies, wholesale and local farmers, and individuals.

The Manna Meal Garden located in South Charleston, WV provides fresh produced used in their kitchen, but also distributes to other area non-profits.  The garden is run by volunteers and operates from March-November.  Thanks to their tireless efforts, over 2500 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables were produced in 2019.

Manna Meal serves as a safety net for the food insecure population.  Their clients consist of the homeless, senior citizens, to the working poor, individuals and families with children.   Their basic need is to eat, just like you and I. Visitors to Manna Meal are both male and female, with no age limitations. Although their clients are diverse in many ways, they all display one constant-hunger. In 2019, they have served 92,115 meals to those in need and 1077 of those were children.

In addition to on-site meals, they also operate a small pantry that provides a” 24-hour “ bag of food.  Other pantries are open on weekdays only for limited hours.  They fill a critical void when other food pantries are closed.  Manna Meal packed 1676 pantry bags last year.

They accomplish this with an enormous amount of help from dedicated volunteers, donors, and a small but efficient staff.  Volunteers and donors are the heart and soul of Manna Meal.  They simply could not operate without their help.

Our Gratitude page is driven by the support of others. We focus our efforts and talent to help support those organizations that help support lives in a bigger way. We work with each organization and create a bracelet that reflects the mission appropriately.  These bracelets are sold for a limited time, to help their fundraising efforts. Each campaign is uniquely different and we strive to create a product that helps spread awareness and remembrance of each cause.
