Presidents' Day
On June 20, 1963 John F. Kennedy visited West Virginia to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of statehood. An estimated crowd of 10,000 people turned out at the Capitol to mark the state’s birthday and to see Kennedy. In his speech he said, "The sun does not always shine in West Virginia but the people always do. We couldn't agree more!
