This year’s WV Day 2025 design, illustrated by West Virginia artist Marisa Jackson, is a tribute to the natural beauty and enduring spirit of the Mountain State. The artwork features a repeating pattern of monarch butterflies, rhododendron blossoms, dragonflies, and a timber rattlesnake, surrounding the West Virginia state outline with “1863” at its heart—honoring the year of statehood.

Encircling the design is Marisa’s poetic homage:
